MLMTP Tennis Premier League ends May 20

Team Purity is one of the sides taking part in the MLMTP Tennis Premier League tournament holding at the LSDPC IMH S4TC Sports Complex, Ogba. The championship ends on May 20th.

MLMTP Tennis Premier League tournament, which is in its third edition, began on April 14 and will end on Saturday May 20 at the LSDPC IMH S4TC Sports Complex, Ogba.

The tournament is a competition featuring four teams, including the Ace Squad, Blue Flame, Team Purity and Volcanic Rage with such categories as the Veteran, Ladies Pros and Semi Pros.

According to the organisers, the objective of the event is to improve on community interactions within the host community, S4TC Estate, Ogba and particularly increase awareness on the importance of physical exercise in the well-being of the community.

“The tennis community in LSDPC Medium Housing Estate (Scheme IV) is a family oriented initiative, and is associated with three of the winners at the 2017 CBN Junior Tennis Championships, which held in February 2017 – Marylove Edwards and the Yakubu Sisters (Oiza and Nene), who have found a tennis home in the community.

“Participation in the ongoing tournament, being sponsored by Greenlife Pharmaceutical Limited, is among 36 veterans, male and female players, structured in a team-based tournament modelled after the international premier league,” the statement said.

The Team Purity (135) recently overtook the Ace Squad (134 points), while Volcanic Rage and Blue Flame have 125 and 121 points respectively.

The tournament ends on May 20th.
